What is it?
Volunteer in Peru Montesanto Shelter Home is a Labor training center for people with deficits in abilities. It was founded due to the lack of other institutions of this kind to take care of the youth.

The  home helps the students with full and half scholarships to youngsters that are willing to learn and grow.  The rest of the funds are used to cover the running expenses.

Goals:
One of the goals of volunteer in peru Hogar Montesanto is to open a bakery. So we need to have our own home with the facilities needed to have a good working and learning atmosphere.

We would like that this bakery building can also have a place for pastry and for different therapies: social work, green areas,  a theater workshop and plastic arts.

The running of a workshop of bakery and pastry  would also represent a source of income for the youngsters, and besides being qualified for a job they could also obtain their  due remuneration.

Recognition and Personal Growth:
From volunteer in peru Hogar Montesanto, besides all the above reasons we focus on the needs of the youngsters, taking special interest in their emotional and affective necesities. Besides the bakery, in volunteer in peru Hogar Montesanto there are workshops of handicrafts and jewlery, sports and recreational strolls that conect the children with nature and promote the environmental concern.

Another important issue to remark is that social help is provided in low-income areas. We are going to mention this later in more detail.

All products that are elaborated there are sold to the community.  Besides the economical value, this is a proof to them that their work is worthed and feeds their self esteem, helping to integrate them better in the society.

The mission and objectives of the children is just admirable. They want to grow, they have such a spirit of self-improvement and such a will to be independant. It is a pitty that due to the lack of human resources and infrastructure as well as economical problems force us to ask for cooperation.

Aid:
From Wasihpy Miraflores Hostel we help making possible that the youngsters are able to work and promote their goals. Also all those that stay in the Washipy Lima Peru hostel and wish to cooperate with volunteer in peru Hogar Montesanto will get a reduction of 5 % besides the other
5 % that will be donated to the shelter.

How can we help?
In the same way that the children in our shelter, we can follow their example and learn to be better, to grow and do something to help those in need. There is always some way to cooperate, there is always something to do. Each one of us can do something helping, either financially or visiting the shelter, spreading the word about it, or simply with ideas and good will. These are an unlimited resource. Let us make use of it !
